RES welcomes the news that the Department for Energy and Climate Change's decision to refuse Llanbrynmair Wind Farm (against the recommendation of the Government’s own Planning Inspector) has been quashed and now DECC will re-consider this important low carbon energy project, following our request for a Judicial Review of the decision in October 2015.
RES now awaits the Secretary of State’s new decision and will continue to keep the local community informed of progress. Keep checking back for updates.
At 30 turbines, Llanbrynmair Wind Farm would be capable of generating between 60-90MW of clean, green electricity. This is equivalent to the average annual consumption of more than 38,000 UK homes* and would make a significant contribution to renewable energy targets in Wales.
